The grounds around the house are cultivated natural lawn and Cinnamon gardens. Planted throughout are coconut trees, and many old and established fruit trees. We also plant trees for all our guests to offset the carbon footprint of their travel. Beyond the rear of the house is a mangrove stream, and beyond that the wild rain forest begins, leading down to the river. Garden safaris are exciting and can be organised at any time during your stay.

Beautiful home, stunning grounds, near the beach, what more could you want?

The front verandah

Overlooking the entrance drive and cinnamon gardens, this is the perfect spot to watch the peacocks, butterflies, the wide variety of birds, and the chipmunks that play in the big old mango tree.

The Middle Verandah

Situated between the Old building and the Big Room, the middle verandah overlooks the pond and water fountain, and the very old fruit trees surrounding it, Tamarind, Breadfruit, mango, Lime, and Orange.

The Big Room Terrace

The large double doors of The Big Room, open out onto the terrace beyond with views into the jungle. Monkeys pass through in the morning, and from here you can watch the flocks of birds, and bats going home to roost every evening. peacocks pass by as do the monitor lizards. Its a riot sometimes! We use the terrace for yoga sessions, and evening drinks in the jungle.

Bandara Watte Plantation

The property is a working coconut and cinnamon plantation. There are many varieties of trees, Frangipani grow with tiny wild orchids nestling in their branches. Most of the planting was undertaken many years ago and as a result rare and medicinal fruits still grow in the gardens.
